The werewolf who took me is everything I hate.
Luke dragged me from my home and shattered my world with a single promise: I’ll give him the child he needs to secure his power. He calls it fate; I call it hell. He claims I'm his mate, but he doesn’t want a partner—he wants a prisoner. Someone to bend, to break, and bear his child in a bond I never asked for.
I’ll die before I submit to him.
But Luke is relentless, his eyes filled with fire and his touch impossible to forget. He says the darkness inside me calls to his, but all I feel is fury. He thinks he can claim me, but I’ll show him what it means to be untamed.
I'm a wolf who doesn’t belong to anyone. Not even him.
A Duel in Darkness is book three in The Dark and Devilish Series - a dark paranormal romance, where 'Den of Vipers' meets 'The Wolf King'. It is a true standalone that is super spicy, and contains themes that some readers may find triggering.
Would I read this again? Absolutely!
Do I need the physical book as a trophy? Again Absolutely!
Will I read more from CJ Holmes? ABSOLUTELY!
This was jaw dropping good. It hooks from the start and draws you in and holds on to you with a death grip. The spice was oh so delicious. And the happy ending was just perfect.
From the very first page, I was drawn into a world where danger and desire collide. Holmes’s writing is beautifully haunting, immersing readers in a narrative that is both dark and exhilarating. The chemistry between the characters is electric, and the stakes couldn’t be higher.
