When Amaia’s forced to participate in trials so vicious that even the fae outlawed them for their cruelty, she’s faced with an impossible choice – abandon her coveted status in her coven, or surrender to the fae she’s evaded for years.
I used to be brave enough to care about protecting life. About right and wrong. I should regret my past, but I can't quite bring myself to feel remorse for anything anymore.
Like Hecate, I’ve stood at a crossroads for a while, but I’ve been uncertain which path to choose. Now, she’s grown impatient and she’s taken away my choice.
I have to face trials of virtue and prove I’m worthy to contain the darkness, forced to ally with a fae lord who’s the essence of everything I despise. He’s cold and arrogant, but somehow his potent magic clouds my senses and steals my breath.
He’s beautiful but brutal, so when I find myself trapped with him I’m certain his callousness will be my downfall. His magic might be the light to my dark and the calm at the centre of my storm, but his refusal to let my past rest will deprive me of a future I’ve been desperate to forge.
Shadow’s Torment is book four in The London Fae Court Series, a four-book fae fantasy romance series. This book includes steamy romance, a strong female lead who refuses to bow, a calculating fae lord prepared to stop at nothing to achieve his ends, and a battle to overcome the shadows of the past threatening to consume their future.
What an amazing spinoff! I loved Lily and Raegel's story but like many others was not a fan of Matthew. Boy did this book change my mind! Another epic read from CJ Holmes and I'm desperate for Riven's story next
Once again CJ Holmes blew another one out of the park! Book four in her London Fae Court series was a story about forgiveness and acceptance. I loved every single part of this book.
The spice in this book was fully *chef's kiss* ... in my overall opinion it was really a good book - and the ending omg was the whole plot twist and I totally didn't expect the ending at all
